However, it is still difficult to fully electrify medium and large ships over 5,000 tons at this stage. At present, combined with the current government's promotion of ship electrification and the environmental protection requirements of inland rivers and lakes, in the future, ship electrification, especially pure electric ships, will mainly develop in relatively closed waters such as inland waters and lakes, mainly concentrated in the markets of river and coastal city ferries, sightseeing ships, inland (lake) cargo ships, port tugboats, etc. Moreover, the tonnage of these ships is mostly concentrated within 2,000 tons. Ship-type lithium batteries have been widely used in automobiles, computers, etc., but their applications in the ship market are relatively small. At present, key technologies such as large-capacity battery energy storage systems and battery management systems have made major breakthroughs, and the promotion of external factors such as environmental protection policies of various governments has also provided strong support for the development of ship battery applications. The application of lithium batteries in ships should take this opportunity to develop and promote to meet increasingly stringent environmental protection requirements.
